- Most of becoming successful is just pain tolerance and persistence.

- Social media networks have learned they can make some nice extra money by essentially gating access to your audience unless you pay.
- If you have your entire ability to contact your audience dependent on somebody else’s platform, you can have your business sunk overnight.
- What’s really nice about an e-mail list is that you have permission to contact these people and if you are specific on platforms, you can just move your subscribers to a different platform.
- The viability of a business comes down to your ability to get in touch with the people who want to buy stuff from you.

- With e-mail list pruning, the idea is that if somebody doesn’t engage, then they get marked as a cold subscriber and often people are sent a sunset campaign.
- There is a balance between volume and quantity, but you can lean towards quantity as long as we’re pruning them and keeping the list engaged.

- Every website has a problem in one of these big three areas which are opt in form placement, opt in form text, and the lead magnet quality.

[20:27] – The 4 steps to multiply your email list..
- Nail the four key opt-in placements.
- Setup some delayed pop ups, put exit intent pop ups, get a hige intrusive forms that blocks the whole page, and put a homepage above the fold.
- Opt in for 80-20. It’s like having a headline that speaks to the dream outcome and a sub head or body copy that kind of explains how.
- Sometimes the dream outcome, it might be actually attached to the thing they’re trying to learn versus the impact of that thing.
- Have a good lead magnet. Magnets are essentially quick, faster, consume quick shortcuts. Quick wins are something you can just copy and paste into your life. And it’s going to be different depending on your industry.
- The free content, is when you give them the information and then the lead magnet, it’s like you always think in terms of what’s the next step and so the lead magnet should be the next step beyond your free content that helps them put things into practice.
