Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: How to Become a Successful Author & Scale Your Business Online
[1:23] – Tyler shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- It’s a combination of a constant upward trend and a mix of ups and downs through trials and errors that you can become successful.
[2:40] – The best way to write a book.
- You should write your book backwards. Turn off all your technology and get everything out of your head – just main topics.
- Start to write separate blog posts for each topic. Once you have that, then the order will actually naturally come to you.
- If you want to write a book, just let yourself go. Get everything out of your head, and organize it later.
[4:30] – How the Wall Street Journal best-seller list works.
- Amazon best-seller is not that difficult to hit. It’s actually fairly easy, especially if your book is in a really easy category.
- If you get about 5000 sales in a week from Sunday till Saturday, then you would hit USA TODAY. The only other trick with that is you want to get at least 500 sales from a secondary bookstore.
- If you’re listed as a top 10 nonfiction book of the week, then you will hit a Wall Street Journal list, and that’s normally about 5000 in a week as well.
- For the New York Times best-seller list, if you’re not with a traditional publisher, it’s very unlikely. It’s almost impossible. So, you want to make sure that you’re with a traditional publisher, ideally one of the top five.

[11:38] – Busting the myth that there are too many books out there to be noticed as a new author.
- Stories can’t be saturated. Your book should be about 95% story and then 5% actionable steps.
- At the end of the day, nobody has your story.
- If you focus on your story and share it authentically, then it can create a life of its own.
[14:54] – Scaling can be risky. How can we scale and forego the risk that comes along with it?
- The money that they spend on ads, it’s really only retargeting ads.
- Infinite Partnership System scales partnerships. Instead of trying to find authors directly and do Facebook ads and target authors, they reached out to all publishers who speak English globally, and offer marketing services to them and build affiliate partnerships.
- The thing with Facebook ads is once you turn them off, they’re off. With relationships, they never end.
- The best way to scale with no risk is building partnerships at a very high level.
[19:26] – How to grow your company and still have a life.
- Pick a week, write down what you’re spending your time doing, and become aware of that. You’ll realize that 50% or more of the things you’re doing, you can outsource.
- Focus on what’s going on in the business. Don’t just be busy, but rather be more strategic.
[22:12] – Tyler’s key take away and call to action.
- Relationships are everything.
- Authors Unite – Become a profitable author and maximize your impact.
- Infinite Partnership – Access free training and learn how to grow your own 6, 7, or 8+ figure business!
