Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: How to Leverage Online Challenges to Get High Paying Clients Fast.
[1:05] – Nick shares something he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- Be bold in your faith. Do not hide it. Being bold and sharing who you are and about your faith will allow you to be authentic and be who you really are.
[2:25] – What’s the definition of a “challenge” and why is it the fastest path to FREEDOM?
- An online challenge is a string of online videos or “lives” done on Zoom where you create an experience.
- Move the free line in your niche, or in your industry. Do what other people aren’t willing to do.
- Online challenges are about over-delivering.
- Come in with a pure heart and intention, and be honest and upfront. It’s all about having a specific outcome and giving first. Just do what competitors are not willing to do.
[5:54] – Nick talks about creating, launching, and scaling online challenges to get high-paying clients fast.
- You have to get the hook right. You need to make sure that you’ve got something that other people want or need.
- The difference between a challenge and a virtual summit is that during a virtual summit you get to leverage the expertise of other people and bring them on and feature them on online webinars and Zoom calls. A challenge is about creating a specific outcome that you deliver.
[10:44] – Nick talks about the creation phase of challenges – and the tech.
- Think about your outcome — something that you can deliver in your challenge that is a solution to others problem.
- The tech is the biggest concern going into any kind of online project.
- Visit Business On Fire Challenge and experience Nick’s challenge for FREE! You’ll also get access to funnels that are tested!
[13:15] – Nick talks about the resources that will be provided to you once you visited Business On Fire Challenge to sign up.
- In this challenge you’ll get access to their community and get support every step of the way.
- There are three specific things that have to happen: 1. popping in your cell phone # for text updates. 2. joining their Facebook group. 3. building a public Facebook group where you can start to build your own community.
- When you have a public Facebook Group, it becomes an asset that you build over time.
- If you’re going to teach and bless people in your challenge, don’t create a barrier by creating a private group. You want this to be a free and public group.
- You’ll get organic growth by doing a challenge.
[21:52] – The launching phase.
- Because it’s done live, you’ve got a beautiful thing called urgency.
- As you approach your challenge launch, do anything that you can do – email your list, text your database, go on podcasts… do all the things at your disposal to make it a win!
- Understand how you can build rapport and explain what you’re doing and its benefits. Share your story as to how what your teaching has changed your life.
- Make sure to set expectations.
- If by the end of the challenge expectations were exceeded and your students got results during the challenge, get permission to share how to work with you further.
[24:42] – The offer phase.
- One of the important factors is the inspiration panel. On that, you’ve got your success stories where people get to share what happened and what worked in working with you.
- Instead of having to sell and convince, just inspire.
- Don’t make people feel that you’re pushing the offer. Just present it and create urgency and excitement. Make sure that your offer is completely irresistible.

[32:24] – Landing an anchor speaker that both commands an audience and promotes right alongside you.
- One thing is the language. When reaching out to an anchor speaker, someone that could literally 10x or 100x the performance of your challenge just based on their influence, the language is: you’d like to partner with them.
- You have to be clear about how you’re going to support them and how they’ll win. Don’t put the burden of figuring out where the value was created on them.
[37:52] – The three biggest challenge mistakes and how to avoid them.
- The first biggest mistake is doing a paid challenge.
- Second is being too analytical in your challenge. Anytime that you’re on stage or doing a challenge, do not cause confusion because it makes people uncomfortable.
- The third mistake is waiting to share your offer. The time to start communicating your offer is in the very beginning.

Lights that spark Fire Nation. And today we're going to be having an amazing conversation about how to leverage online challenges to get high paying clients fast, to drop these value bombs. I am bringing my fire brother, Nick Unsworth on the mic. He is a business coach, international speaker and bestselling author as CEO of a LifeOnFire.com. Nick's mission is to help you launch your expertise and profit from your passion. According to Tony Robbins, Nick Unsworth is the top 1% of all marketers and funnel experts in the world. And today for our nation, we'll be talking about exactly what is a challenge and why it's the fastest path to freedom.
0 (42s):
Nick's going to talk about how to get that anchor speaker to command an audience and promote right alongside you as well as give you a complete tactical training on how to create launch and scale your online challenge and Fire Nation so much more. When we get back from thanking our sponsors, get your focus back asleep, better and block out the unhealthy effects of blue lights. With BLUblox, blue light blocking glasses. Get 20% off by going to blublox.com/fire or enter code fire at checkout that's B L U B L O X.com/fire for 20% off, or just use a code fire. How can you make money? That's the big question right now, as COVID has changed how we do business with Thinkific, you can monetize your skills by launching it your own online course.
0 (1m 27s):
It's time to scale the business you love visit thinkific.com/e O F that's T H I N K I F I C.com/e O F. Nick say what's up to Fire Nation and share something that you believe about becoming successful. That most people disagree with
1 (1m 46s):
Fire Nation. It's so great to be here with you and Beau. And, and so what I want to say is be bold in your faith. And so I have made that decision just very, very recently to be bold in my faith and to not hide it to not, you know, to do what's comfortable. And so a lot of people said like, Oh, you, you, you, you can't really share your faith. Like you're gonna offend the customers. And you know what, by being bold by sharing who I am and sharing my faith, it has had the opposite effect. It has been an X factor multiple on the business, and I get to just be authentically who I am. And so it's a, win-win all around
0 (2m 27s):
Nick. I love this and Fire Nation. I've known Nick as a dear dear friend, since 2014, we were neighbors in San Diego for a number of those years, even though now I'm in Puerto Rico and he's now in Texas, we still remain friends. We text, we communicate, we chat, and this guy is the true deal through and through. And this conversation is going to be fantastic. Today is about how to leverage online challenges to get high paying clients, not slow but fast. And I want to break down first, Nick, what exactly a challenge is and why it's the fastest path to wait for it. Freedom.
1 (3m 9s):
So a challenge very simply put is a, or an online challenge I should say is it's a series of, it's a string of webinars online, you know, and we like to do seven sessions. And we like to do them Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday. But it is a theme. It's a, it's a string of webinars online, done on zoom and you create an experience. And so that's the biggest thing is I'll never forget Eben Pagan 10 years ago saying when I invested to be in a mastermind, he said, move the free line, move the free line in your niche, in your industry, and basically do what other people aren't willing to do. And so, you know, I started these challenges about five years ago.
1 (3m 52s):
And so I was, I think people have been doing challenges for different niches for a long time. So it's not like completely revolutionary, however, five years ago, doing them online became the entire backbone of our company life on fire. And so we've been doing them every single month for a long, a long time. And so we've learned a ton. I'm going to break all that down. But at the end of the day, an online challenge is about over-delivering and we call it the give first model. And so our challenge experiences, it feels literally people tell us I would've paid $2,000 for that experience. So we coach them. So it's not just videos or, Hey, come on and take some action.
1 (4m 33s):
We literally use our gifting. We do what we're best at, which is coaching. And we get them a result. We get them in experience and we get them into action. So that by the end of it, people, their minds are blown and they say, who does this? Some other people out there, you know, there's a lot of people, you know, pushing challenges, doing different things, but they're upselling. As soon as you opt in there, they're asking for money like right off the bat. And, and the way we look at it is when you come in with a pure heart pure intention, and you're honest and upfront, and just say, Hey, we're going to bless you on this challenge. We are going to over-deliver and it's literally a $2,000 value, not fake marketing value, but it's going to move your business. It's going to get you off the ground, get you launched.
1 (5m 14s):
And then by the end of it, people there's such a rapport. It leads to the next step and the next step. So it's all about having a specific outcome and then really, really giving first and just doing what your competitors aren't willing to do.
0 (5m 25s):
And I just want to re hash exactly what Nick just shared there. Do what other people aren't willing to do. Fire Nation. I always talk about how, if you can build a barrier so high, your competition will be so low, like the higher, your barrier, the lower your competition. It allows you to build a moat around your business that cannot be replicated my daily podcast. When I launched it back in 2012, could not be replicated. The barrier was so high. I did what other people weren't willing to do, work that hard to do a daily podcast. And then I started doing a weekly webinar in 2013, for three years in a row to sell Podcaster's paradise. I was willing to do it. Other people weren't willing to do. And for five years now, Nick has been doing what other people aren't willing to do with these challenges in the Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday challenge webinars strategy.
0 (6m 14s):
And Hey, you have to be doing willing to do what other people aren't willing to do via nation. And Nick is such a Testament to that. You are Nick, a tactical beast, which is why I wanted to bring you on here today and give Fire Nation a complete tactical training on how to create launch and scale our online challenges so that we can get more high paying clients
1 (6m 38s):
Fast while I'm so fired up to break it down in steps. My brain, I don't know who else here listening is a how thinker, but I think in steps, you know, and we definitely got to, we want to know the what and the why. Right? So the what, what is challenges? Why? Well, it's the fastest way to grow an online business. And a lot of people JLD, you've done challenges and Tony Robbins and lots of people are doing them. And so it's like, gosh, if everyone just could know right now and say, all right, well, if you've got a message on the inside, if you want to go from, you know, listening to, you know, EOFire, and you want to go from, you know, the idea stage into the action and launch stage that I really, really want you to just, you know, really, you know, perk up and follow this training.
1 (7m 23s):
Because my goal, my heart on this is I want Fire Nation to be able to put this into action and start your challenge. And so it is very specific and very tactical, you know, so the very first phase is thinking about, all right, well, how do we, you know, how do we create, you know, what is your challenge going to be? And when I think about what makes a, you know, an online campaign work and what makes one fail, everything revolves around the hook, whether it's an online webinar or whether it's an online summit, you know, I mean in jail, do you would agree with that? Right? I mean, we got to get that hook, right. So true. It's all about, you know, making sure that you've got something that other people that they want, that they need.
1 (8m 5s):
And so we want to look at it and say, okay, what are you really passionate about? You know, for all my believers out there, you know, what is the, the gifting that God has put on the inside of you? What's that message. And then think, how can you share that and get it out there in a challenge and make it outcome focused? So the difference between a challenge and something like a virtual summit is a virtual summit, is you get to leverage the expertise of, of other people and bring them on and feature them on those online webinars and zooms. And so it's a great way to build your brand, but if you already have a message in, you're like, okay, I want to share my expertise. Then a challenge is about creating a specific outcome.
1 (8m 48s):
You know, so what we do is we've got a whole, we've got lots of different challenges, but one of our flagships is our business on fire challenge. And so the outcome of it is we're going to help every person that's on that challenge, get very specific and clarify their message. Then we're going to help them create a success roadmap. And what we do is we actually have a, make a, we call it a prayer board. Some people call it a vision board, but we help them. Some people think about it like a business plan. So we help every single person literally create an actual plan. And cause what we find is maybe some of you can relate to this is that for most entrepreneurs, they're, you know, they're, they're excited, but there's a lot of things to do.
1 (9m 31s):
And there's a lot of distractions and, and you know, so if we can have a very strategic, specific success roadmap and plan, then we know what to do. We know what to focus on. And then the next step is about launching into action. So on that specific challenge, by the end of it, people are like, wait a minute. So I can sign up for free. I can get be a part of this challenge. I can be with thousands and thousands of people and in a community and then be taught how to, you know, clarify your message, start your business, create your success roadmap and launch into action. It just becomes an, a map like a very incredible, you know, value proposition in coaching experience. And so that's an outcome for one of our favorite challenges and we have that coming up too now.
1 (10m 16s):
So for you, we want to be thinking about, you know, we've got clients at do green smoothie challenges, right? And the outcome is, you know, to, to literally do you know, to do a cleanse and have the green smoothies and do it for seven days and get a result, you know, and shoot jail. Do you remember Megan? And
2 (10m 33s):
I was just going to ring this up. I'm like, isn't this how you met your wife?
1 (10m 38s):
Quick little teaser, Megan Unsworth, who I love my beautiful wife. She's going to be on a EOFire. I can't wait for you to hear her message. But yes, when I was just trying to get a date, I did find that she had a little juicing business at the time. And so I not only bought the juice so that she would deliver it and I'd get to meet her. But then I also, JLD my neighbor. He gets some juice and now I'm kind of referring an influencer to her. So I was just trying to look cool, but
2 (11m 9s):
Hey, you look cool. You looked cool, brother.
1 (11m 13s):
Awesome. It was so cool. So yeah, so basically in that create phase, we want to be thinking about, all right, so what's your outcome. What's something that you can deliver upon in your challenge. That is a solution to a problem. You know, I love challenges where we've got lots of folks that will help someone get the first client. We've got some folks that will help someone launch their podcast. Can you imagine the value of that? Like literally cause cause launching a podcast is, as you all know, like that can be something that takes a year or it can be something that takes a month. So, you know, so it's like when we collapsed time and we have the collective energy of a massive community in a Facebook group together and we're all excited and it's led by someone who, you know, that you, that is fired up about your, your niche, you just get people results.
1 (12m 1s):
So the biggest thing is the outcome of the challenge in the create stage. Now the next piece is the tech. So JLD the tech, how many folks do you have you heard of over the years? Like, right. Like the tech is a huge problem.
3 (12m 17s):
It's people's biggest
1 (12m 19s):
Concern going into any kind of online project. Oh my gosh. Right? The tech, the tech, the tech, and I don't really love the tech, but after coaching, lots of people for a long time, we've come up with solutions for it, right? Like how can you make it easier? And so if any, one of you want to, to do a challenge to grow your business, you know, to get high paying clients, then, then we actually have like a really cool, you know, free gift for you, which is just businessonfirechallenge.com/JLD. And it's our challenge. So one of the cool things is come experience our challenge completely for free we'll rock your world on it and, and, you know, teach and you get to see the process in action.
1 (13m 2s):
I believe we do it, you know, better than anybody in the industry. And then the other thing is that we're going to actually provide for you for Fire Nation only. So this is a Fire Nation thing. So Fire Nation, we're going to give you these specific funnels and you know, and they're battle tested. They've had over $5 million of revenue come through these challenge funnels. So it's, it's the, the website page. It's the thank you page after someone opts in and I'll even provide email copy. And my goal is, is this session today. My goal is for you to look at it and say, dang, if I just rewind this thing a couple of times, I literally can do this. And that's what we all have to think as entrepreneurs, we have to come to the conclusion of, I can do this.
1 (13m 42s):
That's the first hurdle is thinking, all right, I can do it. So, you know, we'll provide you those resources totally hook you up. And then on our challenge, we'll get you in community as well and support you every step of the way. So that's on the create side because we've got to make that quote opt-in page. And I'm sure most of you are familiar with that. You know, where someone can put in their, you know, their first name and then their email. And once we have that up, the next step is what happens after that. So after that is, you know what we call the thank you page, which is just a video of you saying, Hey, thank you for, you know, opting in for our business on fire challenge, super excited to have you on board and Oh, Hey, be sure, check your email, you know, make sure you put us in the inbox, favorite us so that you can get all the communication about it.
1 (14m 30s):
And then the other thing is on that page. And you'll see in the one that we're we're giving is that there's three very specific things that you want to have happen. And I would encourage you to literally like model and actually use our pages on this because, because it works so well. So the first one is the first step is popping your cell phone for text updates. You're going to get exclusive updates. You're going to get, you know, special messages and you know, cool things. And you want them to be excited to put in their phone number. And the nice thing is that it's very easy for me to just pop it in, type it into that web form. And so that's the first one is, is, you know, subscribing for text updates.
1 (15m 13s):
The second one is joining the Facebook group. So on that, it's like what a cool thing where, you know, you get folks to, you get to build your email list, you know, by people opting in for your challenge. You're building your text database, your text, you know, asset lists of phone numbers. And then the third, you know, asset is you're building out your Facebook group. And the Facebook group is, you know, where you build community. I would encourage you to do this is another power move. Very few people know to do this. I, you know, I can't help them. So I just, I give away like our best stuff. And sometimes it comes back to bite me cause then everyone else, you know, catches on, but I'm going to give it away.
1 (15m 55s):
Because when you do this strategy, have a public Facebook group, a public Facebook group, this is Ninja. This is Ninja. I'm going into that vault. And I'm like, all right, Fire Nation, I'm hooking you up. So here's why it's so Ninja. When you have a public Facebook group, you want that to be an asset that you build over time and you do your first challenge. And you're like, this is Epic. You've got a hundred people on your first challenge. You've got a hundred people in your Facebook group. You've got a hundred email addresses, you've got 75 phone numbers, right? And now you have these assets. So people say, build your list. Well, they normally talk about your email list, right? And you know, what's cooler than an email list, right?
1 (16m 36s):
Text list by a lot, I'll take it. Okay. A hundred phone numbers over a thousand email addresses. So if anyone's thinking, okay, well, geez, I gotta be some mega influencer to do this. The answer is no, you can literally get going. And you can have a challenge with 10 people. We've had clients that do challenges with 10 people and got clients. You know, we've had people that have done challenges with 50 or a hundred. You know, we do now 20,000 people, which is crazy. So here again, back to the Facebook group. So when it's public, what happens is it's very easy for everyone to find it on Facebook. It's very shareable. People can invite their friends, which is easy. And then the other thing that happens when you stream that replay to that Facebook group, and when you go live, we encourage you to go live on, on zoom because people pay more attention on zoom, but we can also still stream it to the Facebook group.
1 (17m 30s):
So everyone gets that reminder. Oh yeah, the challenge is today. But here's what happens. That replay that goes in there, we just say, Hey, take a quick second and share it. So all of a sudden you've got a hundred people in your Facebook group, let's say 2030 of them click the share button. Now you're outside of the Facebook group. Y'all this is bigger than just, you know, you teaching to your own hundred people. This is free content. If you're going to teach and bless people on your challenge, let's not create a barrier and create a wall of it being a private group. You want this to be a free, a free and public group. And so all of a sudden that content goes outside those walls, people can share it.
1 (18m 11s):
And the beautiful thing is over time, as you share content in that asset of your community, your Facebook group, this becomes a massive asset for you. Basically people will invite their friends to it, you'll get organic growth. When there's a challenge session, people share it. It gets pushed out all over the Facebook gathering algorithm to other timelines and other people see it. And basically we have found that you get organic growth by doing a challenge. So the days of like, Oh my gosh, this is so hard. How do I get, you know, enough people, this solves that problem. And it's an asset as you build community over time. And it becomes something to focus on, you know, Hey, grow your group by a hundred, 200 people every single month.
1 (18m 55s):
And it happens organically. Now the only thing that you want to, you want to be clear on is you want to make sure that your clear in that video, on that thank you page and let them know that it's a public group and why it's so awesome that it's a public group because you can share from it. And so what happens is most people don't know this because every, everyone has private groups, but people will share that content. We have posts that our communities members make that have hundreds. And some that have thousands of shares in our group is like growing like wildfire without us having an, I don't even make a ton of content. We do like a weekly post, but our members content are getting shared. And then we just let people know, Hey, this is different.
1 (19m 35s):
This is a public group because we want everybody to be blessed by this content. And so yes, you can share because that share button does not exist in private groups. And, and so that does, you know, it is important that, you know, when people are coming up with their plans, if someone's like, Hey, I'm going to leave my job by this date. So we have a lot of people that do that in our challenges. They're like I, now that I have a plan and now that I have the confidence and now that I've got coaching, I'm going to leave my job by this day. Well, that declaration, that posts, we just say, Hey, you know, it is public. So you gotta be careful. If someone's going to break up with a boyfriend or something, it's a public group. If someone's going to leave their job, keep that public, you know, so
0 (20m 15s):
How much value Fire Nation? And since I've known Nick, he has always done just this. He has opened up the vault all the way in shared all his tips, tactics, and strategies that have actually worked. And this is something I want to share. A Fire Nation. Success leaves, clues, success, leaves, clues. Nick is having success pick up on these clues. I love how Russell Brunson always talks about he would buy all of his clients or all of his competitors products, so he could see their funnels. And then he could reproduce the best parts of their funnels. You can do this for yourself, Fire Nation. And when you go through amazing challenges like Nick is going to be putting on. And that way you can say, okay, this is how I can structure my challenge.
0 (20m 58s):
This is what's working. This is what I know will resonate with me, with my audience, with my community. So Nick, one more time. What's that URL that Fire Nation can go to a right now to sign on up.
1 (21m 8s):
Yeah, it is businessonfirechallenge.com/JLD
0 (21m 15s):
businessonfirechallenge.com/JLD. What else? Nick?
1 (21m 21s):
That's how we'll get you Fire Nation, the marketing funnels and in extra bonus training, and then, you know, jump on board with us and get access to the training. So what'll happen is as you hear this today, and you know, maybe you're taking notes or maybe you're jogging to drive and it's like, you can come back to this and replay it. And then as you experience it, what we find is basically between teaching it and then experiencing our challenge. People are at a place where like, well, I can definitely do this. I just experienced it. I just learned it. And, and then y'all get an action. And so that's, that's what is a really cool about a challenge is that you have more people that finish more people that get results. And then when those results happen, they're more likely to continue.
1 (22m 2s):
And so basically on that create phase, so we're gonna, we're gonna do a couple more tips and then we'll jump into launch and then jump into scale and then we'll talk through some, some mistakes.
0 (22m 12s):
Well, we still got a lot to get to, I want to talk about anchor clients. I want to talk about those biggest mistakes. So, you know, you've already given away a ton, Nick let's run through the create launch and scale phase. Then we've got a sponsor break and then we're going to crush it. I love it. I love it. Yeah.
1 (22m 25s):
So to wrap up on create, then, you know, just look at that. Thank you page is everything in the challenge, you know, in that model. So, so from that, the next step is as we get into launching so, well, how do you launch this thing? So some very simple steps is number one, because it's done live. You've got a beautiful thing called urgency. You pick your date, we encourage you to make a declaration, make a post about it, speak out, go on Instagram, Facebook, Hey, here's what we've got coming up. The other thing is, as you go to launch, you know, anything that you can do, if you can, you know, reach out, get on podcasts, if you can go out and, you know, email your list.
1 (23m 6s):
If you have a phone numbers, text your database and use all the different things at your disposal to make it a big deal. If you've got, you know, if you started a franchise, right, you would do, you would tell everybody about it. So sometimes people are hesitant to tell everybody because they're nervous if it doesn't work well, I would encourage you. You're going to be just giving on this challenge to go ahead and let everybody know. And the flow for the sessions, the flow for the sessions is on the very first one you want to be thinking about, well, how can you build rapport? Right? So the first one, sometimes you're gonna have strangers right on your challenge that don't know you. So it's about what you're doing and then explain the benefits of it and then building rapport and sharing your story.
1 (23m 52s):
As you know, how with what you're teaching has changed your life. Couple of very important things, Ninja tips is that you want to also make sure that you set expectations. You know, we're very clear with people. We clear in our, in our ads, we're clear on the page that during this challenge, we are going to over-deliver and it's going to feel like a $2,000 program. And we're going to do that because we call it the give first model and that by the end of the challenge, if we over-deliver, and this is the exact phrase, if by the end of the challenge, we completely over-delivered, we exceed your expectations and we help you crush it. And then you get results during the challenge.
1 (24m 33s):
Do we have permission to share how you could work with us further to pop in the chat box and let us know? And then the chat box lights up and people say, yes, you know, cause there's so many people that are doing and the old bait and switch, and they're trying to trick people in marketing. And I got to tell you it, when we just take the mask off and we just go and say, you know what? Just be authentically you and just give them the truth on everything. It's so powerful. So session one is that's a key point. Think of session two, three, you know, adding value. I'm going to speed this up just for time. And I'll, I'll make sure I, I catch up on some of this in the training for those of you that hop on board, you know, with our free training. So then we want to get to the offer.
1 (25m 15s):
So how does this create income for you? We do ours on session number five. And one of the important factors is we have what we call an inspiration panel. So if you're doing a challenge, you probably have expertise, right? And you ideally, you already have some customers, you've got some clients. And so on that inspiration panel, you've got your success stories. There live with you. We do five, five minutes a piece and they just share what happened and what worked. And so instead of having to sell in convince, we just literally inspire. And then once that's done, it's like, Hey, y'all heard from Wendy and Justin and Alicia and so-and-so and so-and-so, and you know who, if you'd like to, to hear more pop in the chat box and then you share your offer.
1 (26m 1s):
And so the great thing is we never have to feel like we're pushing it instead. You know, we just present it. And as we share what that is, we create some urgency and excitement, make sure that your offer is completely irresistible. I love that James Malinchak calls. I don't normally swear, but you know, he says, you know, make an offer. That's so good that you'd have to be a dumb ass not to buy it. And that's kind of a strong thing to say, you know, he calls it a dumb ass offer. I like to just say the Dow, the power of the Dow, but the offer's so good that people say, Oh my gosh, this, if this challenge was this good for free, and then this, you know, the next step at four 97 or nine 97, w you know, how incredible would that be and make it where it's easy, where people love to buy, they have fun buying and you have bonuses for them to take fast action.
1 (26m 54s):
And so the sweet spot on pricing is four 97 to nine 97, and that's been tested, we've done low ticket membership. You name it, we've tried it. And that is like the absolute best price point. And then session six. We'd love to feature another speaker. And this is also a quick little Ninja strategy is if you can have someone else on that brings influence to the table, someone else that can maybe market this with you have them speak concession six, you know, and it's not about their offer or them, they would be supportive to your challenge and then session seven follow-up and then encourage folks to hop on board. And then you close that shopping cart and wrap it up.
1 (27m 35s):
So that's create with a little bit of launch in there. And, and then to quickly just kind of round it out on scale. One of the best things that you can do is run Facebook and YouTube ads. And I know this is a little bit more, you know, technical, you know, we have lots of clients that do this without running any ads. They just leveraged social, but here's why this is so incredible on the advertising who here would do this over and over and over again, if you put in a dollar in Facebook ads and $4 came back be right. I mean, that's crazy, you know, put in a dollar and $4 came back or put in a dollar and $5 come back. And so that's, that's the level, you know, that, that these challenges are playing at is there's such a return on investment on ad, on advertising, on Facebook, and then YouTube, we just did, Oh my gosh.
1 (28m 27s):
It was incredible from Facebook and YouTube ads in that return on investment was in that same range, put in a dollar, get back four, and think about the impact we did ours. We had 20,000 plus people on our challenge over 20,000 people in the group. And then from that, you know, we had 770 people hop on board at the nine 97. That's crazy within three weeks almost to do a million dollars by running ads and filling that up. And then from that, the next step after that, in terms of scale is you just share, you know, do a virtual summit then, and then that goes into, you know, your, your next step. So it's all about there's different steps, the value ladder.
1 (29m 8s):
So going from free challenge then into, you know, your flagship program for 97 or nine 97, and then if you have a mastermind or coaching, that would be the next step that you share on the summit. So I'll make sure that that's, you know, more of that training is in, you know, our bonus for you because we have other things to get to as well.
0 (29m 27s):
So many other things and foundation, you must just be thinking to yourself, man, if Nick is giving me so much value right now, what the heck is going to be in his challenge, and it's going to be straight fire. So Nick, one more time before we a break that URL for Fire Nation

0 (31m 55s):
All right, Nick we're back. And you kind of mentioned this actually a little bit, right at the end of the last section that we were talking about, and that was anchor speakers. And I can tell you straight up that anchor speakers are definitely the reason why entrepreneurs on fire exploded back in 2012. I was able to get one or two big anchor speakers that just made everybody else say yes, down the line. So let's talk about how Fire Nation can land an anchor speaker. That's both commands and audience and promotes right along side. You.
1 (32m 26s):
Yeah, it is. It is so key. It's so key. So one thing is the language. And so when you're reaching out to an anchor speaker, someone that, you know, could literally 10 X, a hundred X, you know, the, of your challenge just based on their influence and based on their promotion, then what you, the language is. You want to be thinking about partnering with them. So when we, I mean, think about if someone reaches out to you and says, Hey, can you promote my stuff? What, I mean, what's the reaction, the first reaction, you're kind of like, Oh man, like just another person trying to sell me something. But when you come to that person and say, you know, Hey Joel, or, Hey, JLD, I wanted to reach out to you and, and talk about partnering on this promotion.
1 (33m 11s):
And I'm going to do 95% of the work. And I want to make it really easy for you to make dot, dot, dot, and, you know, and, and make, make them an offer, make them, you know, Hey, my goal is for you to make $50,000 just by being on this thing for one talk like that's pretty cool. Or, you know, it just depends on your projection of what you believe that you can do with them, but you want to be looking at this as, instead of it just being a speaker, you want them to be a partner on this. And so here's a great thing is that there's a lot of people that are out talking about challenges and teaching challenges. And, and there's a lot of influencers that are watching.
1 (33m 52s):
Okay. So this is a big deal that influencers that are watching, they know that they should probably be doing it. And they feel like, ah, man, like, I feel like I should be doing that. It's kind of like clubhouse, right? People feel like, Oh shoot, like I should be on there, but I'm not yet. So for you being somebody who just took the time to go through this podcast, you know, come on, our challenge, learn this. And then you can have, you can be brand new and you can leverage the expertise and the influence of somebody else, a big anchor speaker by going to them and saying, Hey, have you seen all the buzz and all the rage about these online challenges? Well, the reason is because shoot for running ads, I mean, there's, there's a four or five X return on ad, you know, investment.
1 (34m 34s):
And so I have taken the time to learn the model. I've got it down. I've done my own. I want to do this for you. So think about that. You are the person that helps do the work and helps organize it. And they get to come on and be the hero. And it only takes them just a fraction of their time. So for them, they want high, you know, revenue. They want high return on their time and they don't want headaches and they don't want to have to think about it. They don't want to have to come up with what they're going to do. So you just gotta, you have to be clear to them, how you're going to support them and how they win. And don't put that burden of figuring out where the value is created on them.
1 (35m 15s):
I have people that reach out and say, Hey, Nick, gosh, I love what you're doing. I just want to add value. And I'm happy to like, you know, volunteer some my time, let me know how I can help you. And, but, but then that burdens on me. I got to figure out how that person can help you. You basically clarify it, reach out to them. You do the heavy lifting on the challenge, position them on. And here's two things. Number one is if you're doing your own challenge, you're the expert. They can come in and support that. And, and as they promote it, they get an affiliate commission for your sales. And for a lot of them, that's a great deal because these convert really well. Now, if you aren't an expert and you do this for an influencer, imagine if they sell their product and you're doing the work of the challenge and you get to build your brand and elevate your status and your credibility and your influence in your email list by doing this with them.
1 (36m 9s):
And then they're a pro. They make the offer and y'all split that 50 50. So we've had people that have gone from brand new, just getting started. This challenge process, go bring it to one of their heroes who they love and say, Hey, I see a way that I can really help, you know, bless and help you grow your business. I'll do most of the work and you can sell your offer. When people, someone that has influenced when they hear wait, I can sell my offer and you're going to do most of the work. Okay. So it's a great way to get that promotion and build your influence. And then the other, you know, the other big thing real quick is if you have someone of influence that has a big audience on Instagram or Facebook and you run ads and target their fans, that's like an unfair advantage in business because their fans say, Ooh, I love this person, my hero.
1 (36m 59s):
And you know, you're able to leverage their status and their audience to grow this entire thing.
0 (37m 5s):
I heard a couple y'alls in there. I mean, you're already becoming pretty Texas on his brother, which, Hey, listen. I mean, being from new England as we both are a couple of y'all's here and there, and nothing's wrong with that, you know what I say? I say wicked, y'all wicked. Y'all y'all,
1 (37m 21s):
It's so funny. I I've been here five months and I've got yells coming out and you know what? I've just between the barbecue and the yells. I'm a Texan. Now.
0 (37m 31s):
I don't want to see that 10 gallon hat next, man, that needs to be part of your brands.
1 (37m 36s):
A trash can lid belt buckle. When I see you in Florida,
0 (37m 39s):
I can't wait, man. So, so we're going to end with being here because we need to talk about the three biggest challenge mistakes and how Fire Nation can avoid them. So obviously there's a lot that we could go into here. Let's be concise. Let's be intense. Let's be on a fire.
1 (37m 60s):
There we go. The first biggest mistake is a paid challenge. It's a paid challenge. And how do I know? Well paid challenges. We've done pay challenges for 2000, for nine 97, all the way down to 47 bucks. What we found is that, you know, back five years ago, with our pay challenges, we would have to spend about $200 to get one person to say yes, for 47 bucks for a pay challenge, we would lose money and that, but we would make it up, you know, as we over-delivered. But the problem is it was a loss and you know, you're losing money and it just, it just, it's not nearly as fun as, you know, getting a four, you know, five X return on your investment in your ads.
1 (38m 43s):
And so we have a lot of folks that say, yeah, but I, but, but I just don't want to be the free person. I feel like I'm giving everything away. And I say, you're missing it just because you did something for free a year ago, two years ago, it doesn't mean that this is free. And this is a bad idea. If you can shift from paid to a free challenge, build up an email list to build up a text list, build up a Facebook group community to the tunes of thousands of people and create a positive return on your ad. You know, investment along the way. It is just absolute rocket fuel to the business. So that's number one. Number two is what we want to make sure that we don't do is we want to make sure that when we go through the challenge, we don't want to have people get too heady.
1 (39m 27s):
What I mean by that is we don't want it to be too analytical. And so anytime you're onstage, anytime you're on a webinar, anytime you're doing a challenge, if you deep dive and this actually this session on the podcast is this is more tactical than inspirational. And so when peoples are in a learning state, it creates a little bit confusion and confusion. As we think back to like elementary school, that's uncomfortable. And sometimes people, you know, might have a say,
4 (39m 56s):
You know, I want to go back to the dopamine,
1 (39m 58s):
Give me some something else, right? Like I want to tune into a different episode. So
4 (40m 3s):
If we get too technical, like if
1 (40m 5s):
I started talking about like the, actually what buttons to push on the funnels, we're going to give you guys, it'd be a little bit much for this moment. Right? So in a challenge, we want to give them our best stuff. Sometimes people say, Oh, only give them the what and the why, and then you're selling the house. No, no, no, no, no, no. Give the over-deliver blow their minds, bless them, give them your best. But, and when you do so, make sure that it's not too analytical and that it stays at a level of inspiration because if it goes too deep, they're going to be in such a logical state. And then when you share your offer, they're not going to be ready or in a position to say yes. So people buy on what they buy on emotions.
1 (40m 47s):
So that's just an important one. That's a mistake that I see a lot of people make and we help our clients overcome that. The third one and last one, there's a lot of mistakes, but this is the big three is the third one is, you know, waiting to share your offer. So the time to start seeding your offer, the time to start communicating about your offer is in the very beginning. People who wait, you know, to session number five, to talk about their offer will they've missed the boat. Right? And then it's kind of sprung on them. And then it's a surprise. So we want to, you know, from the very beginning, even in ads, all we do is we don't, it makes business so much easier where we don't have to, you know, we don't have to try so hard instead.
1 (41m 29s):
We're just completely transparent and just say, Hey, you know, if anyone's watching video right now, this is what I say in the ad. You know, if you're watching this video and you're wondering, what's the catch, can I just share the whole model with you? So this is what we call the give first model. Okay, we're going to over deliver. And I explained that we're going to give for two weeks and it's going to be worth 2000 bucks and it's free. And then I say, you know, and then throughout, we're going to, you know, at the end of the challenge, we'll just have an opportunity for you to hear what we do and if you want to do more great. And if not, that's okay. And so when people hear that in an ad, we've had people coming into the challenge in rapport saying, I'm just so glad that y'all are telling the truth. There's another, y'all maybe like y'all counter number three.
1 (42m 10s):
I'm just so glad that you're telling the truth. Right? So just being honest through the process and then that I shared it before, because it's so important about that very first session, letting them know, because people are wondering what's the catch, you know, if this is so good and it's worth $2,000, well, why would I do it? So they need to know what's in it for you doing it. So people need to know that, well, this is how we build our business. You know, this is how we get clients in our Academy. And then this is how we get folks that, you know, long, longer term want to jump up and do private coaching with us. So those are the big three
0 (42m 43s):
Big at three Fire Nation. Keep it free. Don't over complicate, give all the value. Don't hold back, make it happen. Nick, you have just given all the value in the past 41 minutes here. It has been unbelievable chatting with you as always breakdown for fire nation. Exactly what needs to happen next for them to get this $2,000 plus value from you in a free challenge that you have coming up, that everybody that are hearing our voices needs to be a part of.
1 (43m 14s):
I am so, so, so fired up. So a businessonfirechallenge.com/JLD and basically hop on board. And now that you've heard this experienced the process, so here's what will happen. Now you have an awareness on it. You know, there's two, two main benefits is number one is that you're going to benefit from the experience. So playful out, you know, schedule those sessions. They're going to be seven live sessions. We'll actually throughout we'll bonus, like additional hot seats, you know, put the phone number in for the texts updates and the whole nine yards and, and really be present in experienced at all. Now the outcome and why, you know, it's awesome to do that and to opt in is because we're going to help you clarify. We're going to take where people from all over the world, people that are just getting started, people that are seasoned in business, we even had a hall of fame, NFL football champion from the Eagles on our challenge.
1 (44m 4s):
And he went through it and he got rocked and Oh man, just crazy things. We have celebrities on it. We've got everyday people. We've got people that are new. Here's the deal. When you get clarity on what your business is and you don't watch or listen to EOFire, if you're not pumped to be an entrepreneur. So if you're not an entrepreneur and you're still in a place of, Hey, I'm just listening. I'm learning from JLD Fire Nation. This is your moment. Make this a moment to jump in the game and get started because our success rate on this challenge is off the hook over 50% of the people that opt in and pay nothing, get into action. So we'll clarify your plan, that we're going to create a success roadmap for you, with you.
1 (44m 47s):
And then we're going to help you launch into action. And, and again, over 50% of all the people do that. And so what would that be worth to you? It'd be awesome. You'd be off the ground. You'd be moving and shaking in business. And so that's the first big thing. And then the other perspective is throughout the whole thing, if you ever want to deploy one of these challenges, you'll have heard this training. You're going to learn a ton during the challenge. And then literally you'll be ready to say, I can do that. And we're even providing the website funnels some of the marketing copy, email copy, and what to say. That's just a Fire Nation only benefit as well. So businessonfirechallenge.com/JLD I'd be honored to work with you. And I'd love to support
