3 Value Bombs
1) Bring people in and offer them a career.
2) The second we hit that low, we are present in that and we just have to understand that we are comfortable with the uncomfortable and the sun will come up at some point.
3) You can build a successful business and have the greatest people-focused company at the same time. Relationships and scalability can go hand in hand and will if you do it the right way.

Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: Endurance and Empowerment: Transforming Lives While Smartly Scaling Businesses
[1:77] – Mike shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- Everybody says it’s all about who you know, or it’s all about your network. But, it’s also all about who you know and what they think of you.
[2:48] – Mike’s story.
- He worked with a friend’s grandfather who owns a concrete business.
- You don’t have to fit a mold. There’s no mold that you have to fit to become successful. Success is different for everybody.

[13:24] – Pushing our limits can directly translate to building businesses.
- Highs and lows are something that we will experience in every aspect of our lives. You have to be present in those highs and lows.
- You have to be present and understand that in those highs. It feels so good. There may be a time that we may start feeling a little bit of a drop and that’s OK.
- The second we hit that low, we are present in that and we just have to understand that we are comfortable with the uncomfortable and the sun will come up at some point.
- Don’t compare yourself, don’t compare your business to others. The comparison is the cancer that will end everything. If you want something great to end, start comparing yourself to others and not to yourself.
- Per Angela Duckworth, grit is passion and perseverance for every long term goal.
[17:09] – International scaling.
- It’s something different and there is a dynamic to it that’s not totally easy.
- It’s not a set it and forget it setup, and that is where fear comes.
- Have teams on both sides of the water, they’re gonna make sure that you are successful.
[19:13] – Mike shares employee success stories.
- 5 of their employees who have been with them for a very long time got supplied with equity and stock in the company.
- One of their employees came from nothing and found a way to send himself to college. He wanted to be a developer but can’t afford to buy a computer so he wrote codes in a blank sheet of paper and transfer it to a computer in an internet cafe.
- He then became a senior developer and was able to buy a house, a car, and pay for his nieces and nephews’ college tuition.
[21:53] – Mike’s key take away and call to action.
- You can build a successful business and have the greatest people-focused company at the same time. Relationships and scalability can go hand in hand and will if you do it the right way.
