0 (1m 31s):
Uncommon success, book.com. Lucy say what's up to fire nation and share something interesting about yourself that most people don't know.
1 (1m 42s):
Hello, John. I am so excited. Hello, fire nation. I have been excited for this all week and I guess one of the things that people don't know about me is I always take action before I really know like exactly how it's going to play out. So an example of this is when I was 34 weeks pregnant, I had this hunch, you know, that we need to move to California. We were in New York at the time. Now this does not seem like a rational thing to do 34 weeks pregnant, you know, no house to actually move to. And I said to my husband, but I'm just really feeling that we need to be in Santa Monica. And he's like, okay.
1 (2m 22s):
So what would that look like? And so long story short, we miraculously got our plates rented in a really short window because obviously you don't want to be flying too much longer after 34 weeks, but I just jumped and we didn't have somewhere to actually move to. We just did short term accommodation and people thought we were crazy. They're like, what are you doing? Like, could you not just wait until you have your baby? I'm like, no, this is how I live, like hot lead. What feels good? Let's just see if we can create it. And so we did, we moved and you know, the first place we looked at, boom, we moved in and everything just fell into place. So that's what I, I wanted to share that not everyone knows that, you know, when things don't seem possible, I'm like, yes, let's go find a way.
0 (3m 11s):
That's fantastic. I love stories like that, where you're taking this leap of faith and like, you know, this, this pair of shoes going to open on my way down, but you know, we'll see when it opens, but I know it's going to open before I hit the ground and fire nation. That's what life is all about. And what this interview is all about. As I mentioned in the intro is how to stop outsourcing your inner work fire nation and achieve seven figure success in where I want to start. Lucy is with the fact that entrepreneurs are absolutely notorious for holding themselves back from success, mostly because of their mindset and their lack of inner work. Like they're willing to put in the work and all of the areas except their mindset and inner work, break this down for us.
1 (3m 52s):
Oh, it's such a juicy conversation, John, because I feel, you know, especially when I was living in New York city, which is almost like the capital of entrepreneurs, it's not, there's lots of places, but there's a lot of that hustle, frequency, a lot of that, like, I've just got to make this happen and, you know, pulling these all nighters and trying to get the best strategist and all this kind of that, that fight or flight energy and not enough of this, hang on a minute, like, is my heart actually dialed in with my dream? Am I really believing on a cellular level that I can go and have a lot of success in this area? That's just being skipped over. It's like, Oh yeah, y'all get to that.
1 (4m 33s):
And honestly, I feel like that is the foundation that everything needs to flow from. And so just from my own journey, I was one of those people like clutching, grasping, let me just connect with this person. And that person, it was all very like busy and fast and a little bit jarring when I looked back at it, very jarring and there wasn't this grounded belief and flow and surrender. And I wasn't putting the priority and focus on my mindset because it was almost, and I think it's approaching entrepreneurial life backwards. I think that what shifted, especially in my life was when I said, hang on a minute, am I aligned with this vision?
1 (5m 15s):
Am I truly feeling resonance with it? Am I feeling worthy of receiving it? And so it's what I've noticed a lot. John is there's this real masculine approach of do, do, do, do, do, you know, just, just achieve, achieve, achieve. And it's not being connected from this really grounded all knowing foundation. So to answer your question, I personally think it is the most key ingredient, no matter what you're setting out to do with your beautiful, delicious business dream, whatever it is, this is like the mechanics. This is putting together the engine to make it go the distance
0 (5m 52s):
Fire nation. The one thing that I really want to pull out of what Lucy just shared is this one phrase, am I aligned with this vision? When's the last time you've asked yourself that question. When's the last time you've looked in the mirror or you've just sat down in a quiet place and you've asked yourself, am I aligned with my current vision? And for some people they're going to be like, wow, I don't even know if I have a vision whatsoever or there's gonna be other people that are like, wow, I'm really not aligned with this vision. I don't, I don't remember when I got out of alignment, but I just know for a fact that I took a second to actually think about this question that I'm out of alignment, and this is the time for our nation to get back in. Because the longer you take out of alignment to get back in the harder it is, believe me, you're like off of this track going 1% off the track, but over time, you're way, way out of alignment.
0 (6m 43s):
And Lucy, you have a phrase, your internal GPS break it down for us. What is your internal GPS or what is our internal GPS? What does that mean? And what happens when you're able to turn that sucker on?
1 (6m 59s):
I honestly, and just, I use this metaphor, this vision all the time, but when you were just talking, I see two different highways like sliding doors. And one of them is like the plan B. Let's just see if this is going to work out highway with a GPS. It is not properly plugged in. It's just relying on hope and let's just make this happen. And then the other highway is the dream highway with the GPS, your inner connection to your inner world, all plugged in, dialed in driving that car in the top, gear up, knowing all those gears in and backside, front and back inside and out knowing exactly how that car works and what it's capable of.
1 (7m 40s):
And sitting back in the driver's seat, just trusting, knowing that everything is plugged in. So when I talk about the inner GPS, it's about you being plugged into your inner world, into your heart space, or really getting out of the head, the logical brain overthinking, analyzing, collecting all this data and actually dropping down into your inner world to get a bit still, to get quiet. And to just, again, it comes down to this feel word, really feeling, am I aligned? Do I believe I can have this? And then once you do get quiet enough to hear that in a world, to listen to the whispers on your heart, that's where you get the downloads from the divine or the universe or whatever you believe in, right?
1 (8m 28s):
And you start to get the next steps given to you without all this hustle. It's just like, Ooh, I'm really feeling that I'm aligned with whatever this vision is. Right. But instead of trying to, well, I guess try so hard, you're actually able to receive the next steps. And so when I just think of my own energy PS, when I'm really plugged in things, feel effortless, things start to flow. I start to receive those opportunities. I would never have gotten had I just been hustling and grinding going down that wrong Hine, what highway and not dialed in. Does that make it clear?
0 (9m 6s):
It makes it clear to me. And there's a couple of things, fire nation that I really just clicked with when Lucy was talking number one, that phrase, wow. I loved it. The downloads from the divine. I mean, to me, that's so clear. It just feels so right. And who wouldn't want to download from the divine? I mean, it just makes all the sense in the world and that next followup she had, which was, are you ready? Are you ready to receive the next steps? And the answer for a lot of people is no, you're not ready. You're not ready for that next step. And that is your own fault because you haven't taken the time to sit down and do the things that Lucy and I are talking about here to receive those next steps. And once those next steps are given to you, you know, are downloaded to you, then it just becomes so clear.
0 (9m 49s):
It's like this fog has been lifted, lifted, and I'm speaking from experience. I mean the first three years of my life was a foggy experience of just like, not really knowing why I was in the current reality that I was living in until I had that download from the divine, the idea, the aha moment to start this entrepreneurs on fire eight years ago, 2,700 episodes ago that became clear the fog was lifted because of that. And Lucy let's shift this specifically right now to female entrepreneurs because you know that female entrepreneurs need to break the glass ceiling and you know what they need to do to break that glass ceiling.
0 (10m 29s):
Talk about that.
1 (10m 30s):
Absolutely. And it's not what you think I'm going to say. It's not do more. It's actually wait for it. Cause this is, this is cool. It's about resting and receiving these messages. And that seems really counter-intuitive. I remember myself when I was first starting out as an entrepreneur in New York and thinking I had to do all these things and pull these long nights. And if someone had said, Oh, you just need to rest more. I would have laughed. I literally would have laughed and said, what are you talking about and not listen. But when you prioritize this, getting yourself into alignment each day, basically turning your, your inner light on and feeling activated and feeling energized and inspired before you even start your day.
1 (11m 18s):
Right? Then you're putting yourself into a frequency where, like I said before, you're able to actually, it's almost like the universe just opens up all these doors for you because you are an energetic fit. And I think this takes me back to this event that I led John in New York with an amazing powerhouse called Fran Hauser. And she helps a lot of entrepreneurs. She's an angel investor. And I, and I had this event with all these amazing women. And it was so interesting to hear that many of them felt really held back by this glass ceiling. And you know, what the common theme was, they acting like a woman in a man's world. You know, it's not fair that I'm not getting paid the same.
1 (11m 59s):
I feel like, you know, no one in my boss, isn't listening to me and I'm doing even more than the men and I'm not getting paid enough. And all these kinds of conversations were happening and frat and I broke it down. We're like, listen, that's coming from lack. That's coming from not enoughness energy. You're not standing in your full self worth. You're not standing in and owning your power as a woman in the world. It's a very big distinction because friend is, she's just doing so well in her career. And she's also very feminine. I mean, she wears dresses, but that's not what being feminine is. She's feminine because she's plugged into her power. And she's being a woman in a world in her world where there's a lot of men and never once has she felt held back or intimidated by these men.
1 (12m 46s):
She holds her own. And so what I want, you know, your beautiful listeners to hear in this conversation is that this is about self-acceptance. This comes back to one thing. It's, self-worth, it's you, as we mentioned earlier, really prioritizing this mindset, work to build your own belief muscle in the amazing greatness that you have inside of you and the deliverables and the outcomes that you get. And to really harness and build some momentum from within to feel like, Whoa, I am amazing at what I do and I do deliver, and then coming from a place of non-attachment. So if you're not getting traction in a certain company that you're in and they're not seeing you, then why are you staying there?
1 (13m 30s):
And it really goes deep John into you're trying to actually, please either your mom or your dad and get their approval and you just keep replicating these dynamics. And so that is coming out of lack and scarcity. So in order to really break through the glass ceiling with the least amount of output, it's first and foremost about getting that you are enough right now, not because of what you do, but because of who you are. And when you're walking around in that greatness and that knowing, and that belief in yourself, it's magnetic and men feel it and they want it. I say this first hand, this is not just some nice idea that I'm sharing with you. I'm working with amazing professional women all the time that come to me and they're scared to cultivate and activate their feminine power because they're like, well, how am I going to show up in the boardroom?
1 (14m 20s):
And you know, how am I going to be in this, this man's world? And I said, we're not doing that anymore. We're objecting out of that paradigm. And we're going to bring in and dial up your essence and who you are. So it doesn't matter what boardroom you're in. Well, how many men are in the room? You're sitting there with this in a reverence for yourself, knowing that you deserve whatever it is that you put your mind to, and that when it's dialed in and you do the work and prioritize the work to really ignite this fire within yourself, that translates as pay rises, promotions, opportunities, people wanting to be around you, people wanting to hire you.
1 (15m 2s):
Does that make sense?
0 (15m 3s):
It makes all the sense in fire nation eject out of that paradigm. I mean, there's a lot of great things to lose you to share, but he jetting out of that paradigm. To me, it's just like, why not? Why would I not? If I have the choice to push that button to eject out of this paradigm, why would I not push that button? Why would I not take control of my life and do just that in fire nation? If you think we're even close to done drop in value bombs, you got another think coming. As soon as you get back with taking our sponsors, Lucy's going to rock our world. So Lucy we're back and as I was kind of teasing before the break, we have a lot of important stuff to talk about. Number one is the difference between the masculine and the feminine energy. When it comes to business that exists in the world that we live in. So break this down for us.
1 (18m 13s):
Absolutely. I look it's about the same thing for our beautiful male listeners that we need to balance. The two it's. You can have women that are too in the feminine, in that they're not grounded in that fire in really taking bold action because the bold action is the masculine. You can also have men that are way too much in their masculine and raw and beating their chest, and they need to turn up their feminine as well. Because the feminine, when we break it down in its simplest form is the hot. It is sitting back and receiving it. The feminine is deeply trusting, but again, you can overtrust that people say, Oh, I trust, I trust.
1 (18m 56s):
I know you can be overtrusting with no discernment, as much as you can be not trusting at all, because you're so in the masculine where it's, you know, you need to have everything. Basically I break it down as you need to see it to believe it. Whereas the feminine is believing it to see it. And so this lives inside of all of us, this beautiful, it's like this yin and yang, this masculine, feminine. And honestly it applies for women as much as it applies to to men. And you know, the men that, I mean, look at Tony Robbins. He is this giant light. Whether you like him or not, the man is powerful, right? He takes up all of this space.
1 (19m 37s):
His voice sends to the back of that huge big stadium, but he's also really operating out of his hot space moment to moment feeling his audience. So in order to have the longevity going down your path, whatever that is, or if, even if you are at the beginning and you were in COVID right now and you, you know, this is thing you've always wanted to do, but you keep putting it off until air quotes, you're ready. Then dial down the masculine just a little bit, stop getting the spreadsheets out and coming from this whole, like, this is what it's going to look like. And this is what it's going to be. And looking for the proof upfront, because you're shooting yourself in the foot. It's about spending more time, allowing yourself to activate your imagination and really going to the end.
1 (20m 25s):
Like, what would it feel like already having this career off the ground? Like, what does it feel like making that kind of money from creating big impact? And that is the feminine John allowing yourself to go well beyond your mind and connecting into the divine. And it's that, it's that surrender word, John, that for me, really, really embodies walking down this feminine path. It's not this wearing a dress and a fricking floral headband, right? That's not the feminine. Okay. I'll men. The ones that I aspire to that are doing brilliantly, they have their feminine dialed in.
1 (21m 9s):
Look at Richard Branson. He loves what he's doing. And one of his biggest traits is he wants to have fun. That's the feminine, the play, right? The fun yet. He's also, he takes big, bold risks. He T he's visionary. But what I love about him that really speaks to me is his currency is freedom, fun, play. That's the feminine
0 (21m 33s):
Fire nation. What would it feel like making big impact and generating big money? Like I love how Lucy phrase out of, why would you not put yourself there? Like, why would you not think about that future so that you can then start being magnetized and drawn towards that? Like, what would it feel like, like thinking about it right now, making big impact in this world, generating big paychecks, a lot of revenue. How would that feel now? Lucy, there's good support and there's bad supports. How can entrepreneurs, how can fire nation our listeners here today tell the difference between the two.
1 (22m 12s):
It's really simple. I mean, you've got to look at your life and say, am I starting to get traction? Am I getting momentum? How quickly are you seeing these results? Are you feeling stretched and inspired with the support that you're getting, whether that's working on strategy, whether that's hiring the best coach to stretch your mindset, whether that's bringing on someone for PR, you got to have enough self-respect and self-worth to be checking in, not just going well, here's the investment. And you know, you guys are go and do a good job. No, you've got to keep checking in. Does this feel good for me? Does this feel aligned? Every I'd say every couple of weeks, you know, it's, it's, it's not about just looking at the stats.
1 (22m 55s):
It's about, does this feel like this person is adding something significant to my journey? It's keeping it simple. It's either a yes. A hell's frigging. Yes. Or it's a no. And, and you can, and the thing is we can waste a lot of good time and investment in just waiting and waiting for someone's potential because apparently they've got some good testimonials. No, don't shy away from your own intuition and your gut instincts to check in. Does this feel good for me? Yes or no. It's very, very simple.
0 (23m 25s):
Let's talk about our relationship with ourselves. Like how does our relationship with us with the core with ourselves impact our success? Both in business and in love.
1 (23m 37s):
I mean, it's everything John. I, I used to really have, I was born with this confidence. I walk in a room and people like you're so confident. So I was like, okay, I'm really confident. And I get to 30. And I'm like, if I am so confident, then why can't I hold onto a relationship? Why, why am I not where I want to be taking these big risks and using my talents. It just wasn't adding up. And that's because I'd been living with this external confidence and bravado and jazz had everything's great. It's fine. You know, and real being a real people, pleaser, over-giving no boundaries.
1 (24m 19s):
And I was not honoring the bigness of who I was put on this planet to be, I was shying away from it. I was almost like, Ooh, I might get rejected if I step into that. And that's what many of you are doing right now is you're too scared to dream really big. Cause you're like, well, that's ridiculous. Like that could never happen to me or what will my parents think? Or that feels greedy. And we put all this stuff in the way, and you're not actually really sitting back into the magnificence of who you are and you're not actually accepting yourself at a soul, heart and soul level. And I just speak for me personally, I was almost, I was rejecting my bigness that I am really sensitive. I feel deeply. And I kept wanting to fit in and I was making that more of a priority than actually just getting quiet enough to be with myself and go, hang on.
1 (25m 5s):
You're not like everyone else. Your feelings are your superpower, Lucy. And you keep trying to dim your light so that you're just like everyone else. So I was personally rejecting myself because deep down I felt misunderstood as a little girl, I felt like I was too much. I was too big. I was too deep, you know? And so from feeling that rejection and that abandonment, even though I have the most amazing mom, I wasn't feeling emotionally understood. And so I in turn, ended up abandoning myself and rejecting myself. So when you ask the question, how important is this relationship with ourselves?
1 (25m 47s):
The reason it's so important and significant and vital is that what a success. If you're not accepting yourself, you're not going to enjoy the journey. You're not going to enjoy the money in your bank account because you are tapped into this lack, energy and proving energy. And that is why we see people burn out. That is why we see people that no matter how much money they've got, they still not fulfilled and happy. And this is purely because they are operating out of this lack of self-worth. And when you do the work to love and accept yourself on all levels for exactly who you are and who you're not, then you start to dance with life.
1 (26m 28s):
Then you start to enjoy the present moment and you enjoy the unfolding and the journey instead of rushing to the destination. And the only reason you rush to the destination is because it's, it's that fight or flight trying to prove. And so I got present to that, John. I was like, Oh my goodness. I am literally trying to prove myself right here. Like I'm seeing successes, like my way, my way in.
