Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: From 8-Figure Exit to Financial Revolution
[1:13] – Jason shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- The truth of the matter is you don’t have to get it right, you just have to keep it going.
[2:10] – Jason talks about finding a niche and creating leverage using the internet.
- His first business was they were the largest provider of FAA test preparation which taught pilots in the internet. He had an idea 16 years ago to teach pilots to fly in the internet and at first no one believed it can be done.
- He was already teaching ground crew in person and thought he had to create leverage in his business.
- Its an obscure niche and using the power of the internet and there are 400,00 pilots in the US.
- It looked like a small market and others thought is was a disadvantage but he believed it was a huge advantage because he know exactly his target market was and its much easier to create a relationship with those people which he has been doing for the past 16 years
[4:15] – Jason talks about the adversity that comes with going broke.
- One of his favourite books is “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. There’s a quote there saying “ In every adversity, there’s a seed of greater advantage”.
- A seed is nothing unless you put it in good soil and nurture it. Its just a seed but its your job to make it grow. It takes hardwork and making those small, little steps.
- Adversity conditions you and it takes small consistent effort to get you through it.
- When you are going to hit adversity, it is important to think what are the lessons you can learn from it.
- Be wiling to look at the negative feedback and learn from it to get better.
[8:40] – Jason talks about preparing our business for an exit.
- Even if you are not preparing for an exit, you need to clean up your quick books. For him, he hired a fractional CFO and a full time bookkeeper and got everything cleaned up. He was not looking to sell but a private equity came to them with a higher valuation.
- Clean up your books so when the opportunity comes, you are ready for exit.

[15:03] – Jason talks about how we can reinvent ourself and change up the niche we are focused on.
- Look at your skill set and see how you can reinvent yourself. For him, he is a flight instructor and is very good in the aviation business about taking complex subjects and breaking it into simple terms. His wife told him to go and teach it and they were able to create Moola, the financial literacy tool for the next generation to steward their finances.
- He reinvented himself from a flight instructor who don’t have a degree in finance and was a college dropout.
- Industries are revolutionized when an outsider comes in. He was able to do it by coming to a niche and having a passion for teaching and entrepreneurship.
- Innovation happens when you unveil your eyes that you don’t have to be in the same industry that you are in.
[17:42] – Jason talks about why we must understand “the money game”.
- There are two games that everyone in this planet are forced to play, the money game and the health game. You are in the game and in the arena playing the same rules that you may not know or understand. But it is better that you understand the rules.
- They are in the game to help people and teach them the rules. These are investing, retirement funds, taking control of your finances and be the steward of your money.
- Financial literacy is the name of the game for Moola.
[19:25] – Jason shares how we can take control of our personal and business finances once and for all.
- The best advice is to pay yourself first because if you don’t, everyone else has their hand along the line and can take that money and what you realized in the end is that you just made a job for yourself.
- It all comes back to knowledge. Jim Rohn said “Knowledge isn’t power, its potential power until you place it into action”. Have a level of transparency.
[21:41] – Jason gives his take away.
- You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going.
- Get feedback from people.
- Be in the arena and get in the game.
