1) Purpose and service – those two things will end veteran suicide and homelessness. When you see a veteran who’s struggling, help them find a club, a meetup, mentor them, tell them that they can do something great, give them a new sense of purpose… and they will be amazing.

• You do not have to have money to make money. You have to know people and you have to make an impact or add value to them, and they have to know you.

• They’ve created a group of 62,000 members, military and veteran members and their spouses and families, growing at about 5% per month and maintaining an 82% engagement rate.
• The reason why it’s transformational for people is because they listen.

• When we serve, we’re given a purpose. When we exit, all of the accomplishments, pats on the back, awards you used to have… they will be stripped away.
• When you hit that guardrail as you’re steering off around that corner, your internal body parts continue forward and leave wake in destruction. That is exactly what happens to a veteran. Whether they’re conscious about it or not.
• There’re 3000 cities on the wait list for VCP to come into their town and end the problem of veteran homelessness.
• Purpose and service, those two things will end veteran suicide and homelessness.

• Learn all you can through books, podcasts, and available resources.
• Network at meetups, at conferences – virtual or in person – wherever you are.
• Add as much value to others as you possibly can. You’ve got to intentionally network. Listen to their problems and see where you might be able to help.
• Take consistent, decisive action. Don’t get caught up in just learning. If you don’t take action, if you don’t put this into motion, you will not go anywhere.
