Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: The Importance of the Power of People and Technology Combined, Especially in this AI Era
[1:17] – Brett shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- Being willing and able to ebb and flow and move through that process and be able to augment your plan is very important and allows you to evolve as an entrepreneur and evolve as a company.
[2:02] – The importance of the power of people and technology combined, especially in this AI era.
- In today’s world, companies have to always be optimizing. There is no such thing as setting it and forgetting it.
- Optimization and transformation come from the top down, but also from the bottom up. It forces you to listen to your people, your employees, at all levels of the organization and it’s mission-critical for them to participate in the future of your business.
- Companies need to be clear on what they want. They need to be clear on where they are now and they need it. Most importantly, understand that gap.
[3:26] – Outsourcing is the best way to maximize and optimize our business.
- You should never outsource anything that is core to your business.
- If there are components of your business or your app that someone else can do better, smarter, faster, cheaper than you can. And it’s not core to your business. You should always outsource that.
- The results of outsourcing can 10x your business.
[7:33] – If someone can do it better, smarter, faster, and maybe even cheaper, then it needs to be outsourced.
- It’s about building market share, building relationships and maximizing market share.
- Some of the pros are specialization. With the particular task you’re outsourcing, they will do this all day, every day. They’ll know what works and what doesn’t. They are attuned to the most aggressive and cutting edge exposure to what you’re trying to have done the most effectively.
- There’s ease of onboarding and offboarding. If you have the right relationship with your outsource partner, you’re able to ebb and flow. You’re able to add people as you need them and take people away when you don’t.
- If you don’t have the right agreement and the right relationship in place with your outsource partner, you’re at risk of losing some control over the activities or how your brand is represented.

[14:59] – The importance of the power of people and technology combined and the artificial intelligence era.
- Every company knows that it’s all about their people and without attracting and maintaining and retaining the best people, you’re nowhere in your business.
- Become a really great place to work. You do that by making sure you have a strong company culture.
- Start to understand who your A players are through AI technology. What are their personality indexes? How do they behave? Take your best performers, get people and attract people that are closely related to those people as possible.
[16:34] – Attracting the right talent.
- If you’re a company that has one product or service to sell, that’s a little bit less difficult than if you’re a company that has multiple products or multiple programs with multiple customers involved.
- Identify what good look like with the employee you’re trying to attract.
- Make sure that that first impression and that job ad is accurate, but it’s also compelling.
- AI comes in because not only is it helping you identify what potential candidates are perfect for the particular role you’re looking for, but it can also predict when people are unhappy that are already employed with your company.
- AI is mission critical in the future from the time they see your job ad, all the way through until the time they’ve been an employee with you for years and beyond.
19;12 – Retaining your top talent.
- Relationships are key. Speak with your talent and your employees, understand what their wants and needs are.
- Encourage their entrepreneurial spirit and support their charities.
[20:42] – Brett’s key take away and call to action.
- Spend the time taking our core business down to the studs, along with your senior leadership team to the right people in your organization, to make sure that everyone is aligned to what your business objectives are.
