3 Value Bombs
1) Momentum works in every direction. So, if you’re doing nothing, you’re still building momentum of inaction. If you’re building momentum toward growth you’re going to grow.
2) Emotional intelligence is so often considered a soft skill, but it is anything but that. It is having the awareness of your emotions in the moment, and then using that information.
3) The biggest problem with emotionally intelligent and inward focused businesses is actually having enough jobs because everybody wants to work there.

Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: The Empath is The Narcissist – Understanding Energy as It Relates to Business, Trauma & Connection
[1:16] – Aasha shares something that she believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- Inward work, your self-worth, your relationship to yourself… is all going to launch your business much further than outward action.
[2:20] – The push-pull energy and how it relates to our business as entrepreneurs.
- Treat your business like energy. When you’re in a relationship, what happens is, overtime, if you’re not putting growth at the forefront, it’s going to go down.
- If you’re starting to feel overwhelmed, walk away. Take care of your emotions, then come back with a clear head. Do emotional intelligence and energetic work to keep yourself aligned, focused and balanced.
[4:46] – Emotional intelligence and energetic intelligence.
- Emotional intelligence is so often considered a soft skill, but it is anything but that. It is having the awareness of your emotions in the moment, and then using that information.
- It’s not about bleeding your emotions all over the business. It’s about taking an hour or two to do emotional intelligence work and coming back with a really clear head.
[8:10] – Healing from traumas.
- A lot of high achieving men, entrepreneurs, and CEOs don’t have people in their lives who are willing to ask them if they’re OK.
- Vulnerability is such a powerful tool, and men aren’t really taught how to release emotions because they were taught to show up as the leader and the provider no matter what.

Wherever you get your podcasts, Aasha, say What's up to Fire Nation and share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
1 (1m 55s):
Hi John. Thank you so much for having me and what is up everybody? I am so excited to be here. What a beautiful opportunity to get to know your audience and and have a chat with you today. So the one thing that I know, I don't believe this, I know it for a fact, is that inward work, your self-worth, your relationship to yourself is going to launch your business much further than outward action. Yeah, I would even go a ahead to say that it's about 70% inward, 30% aligned outward action. It's gonna save you time and money and get you quantum results much faster.
0 (2m 38s):
Fire Nation, I think you can already tell this is going to be a mine shifting episode. We're talking about the empath is the narcissist, the understanding of energy as it relates to business trauma and connection. And I wanna start Aasha with talking about push pull energy, specifically how it relates to our business as entrepreneurs.
1 (3m 1s):
Thank you so much John. This is such a great topic and so often we, you know, as an entrepreneur myself, I'm just gonna go ahead and let you know like this is a path that I've been on. I've been really called into this with my emotional and energetics work and I've been balancing myself over the last two years since I've started my business. I have had so much stuff go down. I like got divorced, I got car accident, I lost my, my job. I had all these really intense, what they call like sort of twin flame or soul connections, which we can get into a little bit and trauma bonding. And in that time I was still able to take a half a million dollars in my business in cash and that was literally from the day I started my business.
1 (3m 51s):
So when we talk about push pull, John, we talk about, I really love to tell people who are entrepreneurs and the way that I run my business and my team, we've got a team of four amazing people and a couple advisors and we are on a massive growth path. And the thing that shift for me was treating my business like an energy. So when you're in a relationship, what happens is over time if you are not putting growth at the forefront, it's going to go down, right? Like, you know, people start to like separate and there's no, you know, no intimacy or like, you know, you might be having no love or connection in your bi in your relationship, but then your business is getting all your love and connection.
1 (4m 34s):
And so what happens is the same thing with with entrepreneurial ventures, we kind of maybe reach a place of stagnancy and we keep trying to like go outward, outward, outward. So in my experience, I've been really treating my mission and my, my vision and my, my business as a relationship as like a boyfriend. If I'm starting to feel overwhelmed, I walk away, I take care of my emotions, I come back with a clear head and my team and I all align like that. And we all do emotional intelligence and energetic work to keep ourselves aligned and focused and balanced.
0 (5m 7s):
This is the perfect segue because I think Fire Nation is kind of really understanding now a little bit about this push pull about how we can relate it to our business. But right at the end there, you mentioned emotional intelligence, you mentioned energetic intelligence. What are these two phrases?
1 (5m 25s):
I love that. Thank you again for asking such great questions cuz you know, emotional intelligence is so often John, it's often considered a soft skill, but it is anything but that. And I'm telling you right now with what's going on in the economy in this like looming external fear, fear is an emotion. Fear runs the show a lot of times, right? We make, we make decisions from a place of fear, a p a place of scarcity, a place of lack. And so emotional intelligence is having the awareness of your emotions in the moment and then using that information of your energy in motion, energy in motion to make the changes. So I say, I say all the time, so my son for example, he's 12, we do a ton of emotional intelligence work where he, I just say, listen, trust your body if your body is telling you to get mad or cry or f or get angry, right?
1 (6m 16s):
Like we've, especially with men, we've stifled a lot of like that they call it like toxic masculinity. I just do not even buy into that story. I believe that when we're, when we're conscious and we're transmute transmuting, right, or alchemizing if you will, emotions it, which we're saying that we trust our body enough to give us that intellect to give us that message because everybody knows that the message is on the other side of the emotion. So our our like, I don't know how you grew up, but I'm, I'm 41 and I grew up, we didn't really have this understanding of energy and emotion and emotions and it's not about bleeding your emotions all over the business.
1 (6m 56s):
It's about taking like an hour to to do emotions work, emotional intelligence work and coming back with a really clear head. So I always say the cool thing is, is everybody's like good to speak their truth. Everybody's vibing like really, really high and you're stoic. You just don't get offended by what other people say as easily because you've built that stoicism by releasing your own inner wounds through emotional intelligence and then energetic intelligence, we go one step deeper. So I actually take people into like energy sessions. So it's like reiki except like times a million.
1 (7m 38s):
It's so much fun. And so I do all these really cool modalities to kind of bring emotional intelligence like a little deeper into people through the subconscious mind. It's really cool.
0 (7m 47s):
This is powerful stuff. And actually being 43 years old, I mean we're right there age-wise I can tell you that. Yeah, this was not really something that was talked about a lot in my childhood growing up. And you know, I think that it needs to be something that's continued to be brought more towards the forefront because you know, like you, I've had pretty major trauma in my life. I mean, I was an officer in the US Army, I was deployed at 23 years old as a tank commander. So I was in charge of 16 men and four tanks in a war and we lost four of my 16 soldiers. So a very traumatic for a 23 year old to deal with. And you know, especially the, just the, the contrast of going from like the freedom and no responsibility of college to boom, next thing you know, within six months, 12 months, like you're literally fighting for your life and and seeing life being taken around you.
0 (8m 34s):
And so I dealt with PTSD, ts D throughout my twenties into my thirties and I'm sure I'm still carrying some of that around even into my forties. So let's talk about some of the trauma you've had in your life. You briefly mentioned it a little bit at the beginning, but I wanna talk more about it and hearing the results of actually healing that trauma.
1 (8m 52s):
Man, I just gotta take a minute and just, you know, just recognize what you just shared. First of all, thank you so much for sharing that with me. It's just amazing John, because like so often we look at these people like yourself who are really successful and like, you know, even if it's like, oh, a stroke of luck or whatever, right? But like you've gone through so much and I just wanna honor that in you, especially as a man. I think men oftentimes I work, I work with a lot of high achieving men and entrepreneurs and CEOs and they just don't even have people that are even just, a lot of them don't have women or other people in their life that are just even a willing to ask them like if they're okay, right? And so I just wanted to take a minute and just share that like, you know, I really appreciate you sharing that. I, I think that it's vulnerability is such a powerful tool and men aren't really taught how to release emotions because you're the leader and you are the provider and it's not, again, it's, it's interesting cuz when we move these emotions, we actually become more alpha as a man and then as a woman we become more Alpha omega, so strong and soft.
1 (9m 56s):
Same with men. You wouldn't really yell at someone's face after you know how to remove your trauma and your emotions. So let's talk a little bit about what you just said about the trauma. So for myself, the name of my book is The Empath is the Narcissist. And now this title is obviously very triggering. It's the idea behind the book, it's designed to help people heal their trauma. It's an alchemizing book I'm giving a ton away. And it's, it's a real eye-opener about the understanding of consciousness and coming into what we call unity consciousness, which is love and truth for everybody. So if you can think about like a little kid, they say their truth regardless, right? So cute.
1 (10m 36s):
And when we get, we get programmed to, to not do that. So in my, in my experience, I, I have a beautiful family, I'm just really sensitive. I'm like an energy lady, right? And an emotions lady. So I've had to ta had to deal with that. As you, as you know, in the entrepreneurial world, you have to embody what it is that you're saying that you're doing. And I, I had a father who is an amazing man, but he would come and go from my life a lot and it caused a really big abandonment wound. And so I call the book The Empath as the narcissist because I had a man who I dated in my twenties essentially stay attached to me for about 18 years.
1 (11m 17s):
And when he let go, I felt it, I could feel him releasing. And when that happened, I started to, I was getting divorced and all of this really intense stuff was going on, John, I like actually couldn't even, I was like, what's going on with me? I had already started doing my emotional intelligence work and it was almost like I had to like get like ripped off the timeline with my ex-husband who, who's a great guy. It just was like a trauma bond, right? And when I ripped off and people will really relate to this, it was like, like my heart got ripped out, you know, and you're like, oh my God, how do I heal this? I was really lucky the person I am, I'm, I'm big into research.
1 (11m 58s):
So I instantly started researching and I got like, I got served man, I was like completely served. I got like the attachment wounds, abandonment, wound, mother wound, father wound, rejection wound, all of what we call core wounds, core trauma all at the same time. And also I was having a very big wake up call and like getting energetic, like energy and emotions, power. And so I was, I was like, thought I was losing my mind. It was really intense period of time for me. And, and I think I had to see all that so I could really understand what happens to people when they suffer really severe heartbreak as well as waking up.
1 (12m 41s):
Because the collective consciousness, as you know, is, is waking up. We're all starting to wake up a bit. And so when I had all of those traumas, I started to go back to school. I learned all about ptsd, all about attachment theory. I became a shaman, quantum light body hypnotherapy and a few other modalities. And then I just started my coaching course like while my whole life was burning down. So, and my, and my coaching program, as soon as I stepped into, into my work into like my soul led work, I made like $23,000 in the first week. Wow. And I was like, oh wow. Even though everything outside of me felt and seemed like it was burning down, I was still like feeling really aligned.
1 (13m 21s):
It's really, really
0 (13m 21s):
Cool. Fire Nation. I've interviewed over 3,700 people and one thing that has just continued to be true over and over again is that when people step into their truth, when they're actually living that good things happen. And sometimes it's not overnight. Like let's not, let's not like hit around here. Like it does take time and hard work and dedication, persistence and focus. Sometimes it happens right away, but not all the time. But that consistency is stepping into your truth. So Fire Nation, if you think Aasha’s even close to being done dropping value bombs, you've got another thing coming. We got some real important things to talk about when it comes to energy hubs, when it comes to creating unicorns and so much more when we get back from thanking our sponsors.

0 (16m 40s):
Awar back ends. You believe that people should treat their business like an energy hub? What do you mean by this?
1 (16m 49s):
Such a great question. So let's talk a little bit about, if we could start with maybe the solepreneur, the solopreneur, right? Like maybe one person or two people. That's a really great place to start. Of course. That's how I started. I had one assistant, she's still with me. We've got such high emotional intelligence, we're magnetic. I always say that, you know, we, the biggest problem with emotionally intelligent and inward focused businesses is actually having enough jobs because pe everybody wants to work there. It's so much like so much good energy. And so, so when I talk about training at like an energy, what I'm talking about is that there's always a third energy. So John, I know you, you have a girlfriend, right?
0 (17m 29s):
A wife now we got married in April. How amazing.
1 (17m 32s):
Yes. So in between you two there's always a third energy and there's always a third energy interestingly between the choices we make. So let's say for example like we watch Netflix every single day and have like a huge bag of Doritos. We don't just turn around and be 300 pounds, we've, we've earned that. You've, you've earned that, you've earned that because momentum works in every direction. So if you're doing nothing, you're still building momentum of inaction. If you're building momentum toward growth, you are going to grow. And so what happens when we have emotional intelligence and energetics is we recognize that third energy.
1 (18m 13s):
So it's like me, the energy between my business and my and the and then the business. And so what we do is we say sort of like, you know, and try to keep it as simple as possible when you clear like the extra stories, like people refer to them as limiting beliefs or fears or you know, like you mentioned John, like when you step into your truth, like that's when the magic starts to happen. We get you to the truth faster so that we are like getting you really lined up with what we call like your soul's purpose, right? Like this is like the thing that makes you glow, it makes you magnetic, you're like shining light cuz you're like getting so fed from your work and so you're being fed from it.
1 (18m 53s):
So instead of getting mad at the job or mad at your your work, you, you wanna pull it closer when you're feeling frustrated and see how you can fix what might be going on. And so it's like, it's like saying I'm choosing to grow and I'm choosing this because I know that when I plant my seeds into this relationship, into this energy, I'm going to reap the rewards. And then you can see really quickly when you have this modality like where the misalignment is and you can pivot really fast.
0 (19m 23s):
Fire Nation pivoting, being able to do it fast, having that clarity that we're talking about here today. These are critical things and I'd like to circle back to the core message and the core title and the core focus of the episode from time to time, which is the empath is the narcissist, the understanding of energy as it relates to business, to trauma, to connection. And we talked a little bit about unicorns in the introduction, Aasha and I wanna dive a little more into that because we hear the word unicorns a lot when it comes to entrepreneurship and business. But how does emotional intelligence actually create unicorns?
1 (20m 2s):
Great question. So let's look at Jeff Bezos, right of Amazon. So he as you may or may not know, and for the listeners who grew up really like kind of low income on a farm and he actually was said to listen, excuse me, just sit for hours on end out in the field. And when we connect to earth, when we take that time to sort of meditate and relax, we end up building what we call your intuition or your foresight. And that's actually a feminine energy no matter if you're a man or a woman. When we're in empathy, when we're in love, when we're not love in love with other people, like love is a frequency.
1 (20m 42s):
When we're feeling gratitude, when we're tapping into our intuition to like think, relax and make the next decision that's building your feminine energetic. So he, so Jeff grew up on a farm doing a lot of masculine work and also had that earthly connection. So he is said to have one of the highest emotional intelligence quotient, emotional quotient out of any leader. And during Covid he was able to grow his business 200% and people will turn around and be like, oh well best of luck or whatever that that actually takes planning, that takes momentum and that takes a very, a very big thing called foresight. So if we were to look at the opposite end of that, there's Toys R Us and they didn't see Amazon coming and that was really put down to the, their most recent c e O.
1 (21m 33s):
But it's actually something that built over time because remember momentum takes time. So when we bring emotional intelligence into business, again, it literally creates like, it's almost like if everybody was wearing like a backpack filled with rocks, the rocks indicate like their trauma, their stuff at home. And people are going through so much right now, like you know, there's a lot going on with teenagers and anxieties and people have just baggage, right? So with emotional intelligence, we, we work through the baggage and then everybody lightens up as you lighten up, you move up the mountain faster.
0 (22m 10s):
Fire Nation, there's been a lot of talk today around trauma, around emotional intelligence, energetic intelligence, energy hub that push and pull ash that we talked about. When it comes to energy, I mean we've really talked about a lot of things around this very important topic. What is really the one core message, the one core theme, the one core takeaway you wanna make sure our listeners get from our entire conversation today?
1 (22m 37s):
That is such a good question. Okay, so you know what, honestly, I like to always kind of go back to to good examples. You know, Tony Robbins, when he first made, when he made his first million, he's often quoted in talking about how he kind of stepped in and had all these struggles and I think it took him, I'm gonna, I might, I might get this wrong guys, but I think it was about seven or eight years of like grueling work to like get that, that first million. And I still look at him and I go, if he had emotional and energetic intelligence, I guarantee you he would've had that done, had that done in a year and a half with the, his level of energy, right? His natural level of energy. So the core message is if you desire to cut time down, you begin to take the idea of outward action and not just fumble around like looking for the next best thing.
1 (23m 27s):
Cuz that's what a lot of people do, especially when we're starting or we don't do anything, we get really overwhelmed and we don't do anything, we end up kind of like self-sabotaging. So those two types of things can happen. And really, if I can bring anything to you guys is you, you wanna release your attachments, so, so one thing that you can do, do today and like any day is just think about anybody in your life who you may have a negative feeling toward, whether it's an ex-boyfriend or an ex-girlfriend or your parents. And just even if you take like a little bit of a journal and just just journal what it is that upsets you about them and really give yourself some time to move the emotion.
1 (24m 10s):
And if you can find it in your heart to stay open toward that person, doesn't mean you have to forgive them, but you want to release the energy around it so you can even write some things down. You may even write them a letter and then just burn the letter and release and just understand that that energetic hold is somehow affecting your current moment. It's all about detaching as much as we possibly can come back to your worth.
0 (24m 37s):
Yeah, there's a phrase or a quote that I'm gonna butcher a little bit, but the concept is there is like, you know, having like anger and resentment towards somebody is like holding onto a hot coal. It's like you're the person that's actually getting burned. So like why are you doing that? Why not just release that? Because you know, at the end of the day you should be focused on your happiness, your gratitude, your wellness, Fire Nation and Aasha give us a call to action. How can we learn more from you, connect with you, read more from you, break it down.
1 (25m 10s):
Oh, thank you. I really appreciate that, John. Yeah, such a great conversation and you, and you really nailed it with what you just shared in that, in that quote, you know, and, and, and so often John too, like so many of us just think that we can think it away and that we can do that our energy will move. But when you bring in eq, when you bring in energetics, it just moves that much faster. And I'm gonna live an example and you can read all about that in my free ebook. Emotional intelligence creates unicorns, my story where I'm gonna share about how I made a half a million dollars in the first two years of business while my entire life is burning down. And it's all about how you can start implementing some EQ and emotion when I say eq, it's emotional intelligence into your business now and take some stuff to your team.
