When I got into the advertising and marketing field, I spent a lot of time trying to learn all of the fancy programs I saw my fellow creatives playing around on like Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
Thing is, I was on the account side of the agency. Weird, huh?
I guess I just figured that it couldn’t hurt for me to know these programs… Well, this is true. It was (and still is) very helpful to understand these programs. But I think what I didn’t realize at the time is this: learning how to use Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator isn’t going to turn me into a designer.
Darn!
The design of your website, your social profiles (cover and post images), your logo – even hard copy collateral – is very important. And as I’ve come to realize over the years, not everyone can just turn themselves into a designer.
Enter: Brandy Shea of Iron Daisy Design. Brandy is an amazing designer who reached out to EntrepreneurOnFire a couple of months ago and offered to create a new Facebook cover image for our page – no strings attached. Knowing what an amazing offer this was, we jumped on it immediately!
A couple of days later, Brandy sent us an amazing Facebook cover image that within minutes of posting received comments like “Great design! Who did this for you?” We gave Brandy due props then, and we’ll do it again today.
Since then, we’ve worked with Brandy on a number of design projects, ranging from widget designs to email banners. She has not only been a great pleasure to work with – she simply has a great eye for design.
With a strong passion for being part of the entrepreneurial community and finding her own path that will allow her to “make a dent in the universe”, Brandy hopes to eventually find a way to provide exposure for “pre-entrepreneurs” through design, marketing and event planning.
Bottom line, Brandy takes great pride in her work because she knows that through each job she does, she’s one step closer to helping people achieve their dreams.
Brandy, we can’t thank you enough for providing us with continued design support. What you’ve done for EntrepreneurOnFire is truly incredible!
