[1:02] – Julie shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- Success is not more about the grind but more about having balance in play and working hard.

- We grew up with Disney Fairy Tales and we believe in happily ever after. But when that doesn’t happen, we become delusional and we don’t know where to go and we get stuck.
[3:46] – Julie talks about Divorce and the Quest for Happiness through Travel.
- After her divorce, she tried to find her happily ever after through travel. She re-evaluated herself on how she can find happiness outside of having a partner. She went backpacking in southeast Asia for 6-7 months and it helped her discover herself and heal from her divorce.

- When she came back from her trip to India, she came to a point that she wanted to have a child. She was 39 yrs old and still single but she thought that her life will not be complete if she didn’t have a child. She started to look around and found Single Moms with a Choice, a movement of women who have chosen to have a child without a partner through sperm donor or through adoption.
- She now has a 6 years old daughter that she adores and consider to be the best decision she has made and created her own happily ever after.

- KDP is Kindle Direct Publishing which allows you to self-publish eBooks, paperbacks, and hardcover books for free.
- When she published her book Travel, Sex and Trainwrecks she had a grand vision that it will be a best seller but that didn’t happen.
- She works full time as a School Social Worker but she still wanted to earn and support herself financially. When her sister started getting into journals in KDP and manage to have her own passive income, it also inspired her. She is still new and scaling but she earns enough to cover for her travels with her daughter.

- She thinks that we are still operating on outdated stereotypes in our society about single parenthood where many people think that the success of a child depends on the number of parents which doesn’t make a lot of sense.

- Single parenthood has change and we really need to look at the different models that makes a family. It is her passion to spread that message on the TEDx stage and launch her speaking career.
