Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: Responsible Franchising for Entrepreneurs
[1:14] – Aaron shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- He believes that as you become successful you are going to make more and more people become angry and this should not slow you down because it means you are doing the right thing and that you should speed it up.
[2:28] – Aaron tells about his leap from Hollywood to franchising.
- After his graduation, he started to work as a Hollywood agent with award winning actors, writers and directors and on his path to becoming the biggest agent in that space he started partying and lost everything. That became his wake up call and started to think of what’s going to make him happy.
- He reached out to a friend who introduce him to franchise development and there he started to know about the whole space of franchising where he can buy a service brand for less than half a million dollars and build considerable wealth and that’s where he got involved to a carpet cleaning brand that grew and was later purchased. Later they bought a dry wall repair brand where he was put in charge and in 2 years he grew it by 223 locations across the country.
- He then realize he can do it in his own and went out to find a business that he believes in. In 2022 he met the founder of Rolling Suds , acquired it and has been franchising that business since 2023.
[5:03] – Aaron shares the key moments that prompted him to explore franchising.
- When he was in Hollywood, he was in a chaotic lifestyle and he wanted something to do that had more meaning. The idea of being able to walk someone through becoming a franchise owner and changing their lives was really exciting for him.
[6:16] – Aaron tells what his first foray into franchising like.
- Pre-investing in the business in terms of human capital is what he learned in the hard way.
- His business is creating businesses for other people to buy. He makes sure that the business model allows someone to own a specific business so he has to think about the different layers (e.g. marketing, book keeping, insurance, costing, supply chain, etc). All of if must need to be identified before selling franchises.
