Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: Mastering the Art of Word of Mouth Marketing
[1:35] – Joe shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- Most people believe that systems and processes are what saves businesses but he believes every business is a people business so the only thing that will save you in business is your effectiveness with people.
[2:22] – Joe talks about the best techniques for building real relationships.
- First thing is to show that you care for the people you are talking to and to get to know them and what is important to them.
[3:23] – Joe talks about the importance of mastering word-of-mouth marketing.
- People pay for how they feel and they stay for how they feel, so it is important to be able to deliver a service model and an experience that they actually enjoy being a part of.
- To get them to the word of mouth, you have to make them feel how responsive you are and to provide them a service that go above an beyond what they are used to.
- Listening to customers, getting to know them in a deep level and meeting their need of connectiveness will make them introduce you and not just refer you to other people they know.
[5:17] – Joe shares some strategies for both building and maintaining lifelong client relationships that generate unsolicited referrals.
- Before getting into business with others, you need to first build the know, like and trust bridge. You can make the first purchase or get a relationship started after you crossed that bridge.
- When you talk about word of mouth, you have to be social to people. You can do business by doing fun things with your clients.
- Identifying who are those people you can connect to is like an art form. You are creating an ecosystem of experiences for your clients where you can play your business along with your team so that you can constantly give your clients the enjoyment while providing great service.

[13:48] – Joe shares some tips and tactics for achieving clarity in sales goals while maintaining a winning mindset.
- Get a long term vision before setting a goal. What he does is ask people what’s their dream 10 years from now and once identified, he will bring it down to what’s their dream in the span of 1 year. This mindset helps them set crystal clear goals with a deadline.
- Do affirmations. Set your goals and tell yourself that it already happened. Be very specific in your goals for your business.
- People lie but numbers don’t and people normally lie about their numbers to themselves. But, the more specific you are on what you can do in your business will get you closer in hitting your goals.
- Write your goals everyday because if you don’t, your goals will escape you and if you are not controlling your mind, someone else will.
[16:56] – Joe talks about continuous learning and self-improvement as the path to becoming a master in sales.
- You are the product so you have to constantly refine yourself. Taking care of yourself by becoming more interesting, learning and growing more is necessary to adapt in the ever evolving world of business.
[19:02] – Joe shares one fav case studies of his top clients.
- He has a client who has the heart of a lion and very courageous but did not understand what to do around with his business and not growing it in the way he wanted to. He is not educated but good at making connections. He is not afraid of failure and is consistent in getting to know people. He created a brand for himself through word of mouth.
- Education or intelligence are not the determining factor of success.
[22:24]4 – Joe gives his final take away.
- You cannot commoditized chemistry with whatever you are doing. Your ability to have relationship with others is the one thing that matters in all businesses. Master the word of mouth in your business and you will never look back.
