[1:06] – Brendan shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.

Successful people are fearful, but they have learned and they’ve channeled the ability to overcome their fear, uncertainty and doubt and be able to channel their fearlessness to propel their success.

What held people back wasn’t having the opportunities. It was their own mindset. They genuinely doubted their own abilities.
Brendan made his life passion a fearless leadership, just instilling the ability to overcome fear, uncertainty and doubt for everybody.

Have the courage to fail and the faith to succeed.
Build up some of your own courage to be willing to fail and then, when you fail, be able to say OK.
If you have that faith that a positive outcome is going to happen, that faith gets you over so many obstacles.
That courage to be willing to fail holds people back from taking some calculated risks and then not having the faith that you’re gonna be successful holds you back and allows doubt and uncertainty to creep in.

His mentors have pushed him to be better. They’ve stopped him from making really stupid mistakes, emotional mistakes.
One of the things that mentors did for him is having more faith in him than that he had in himself.
Create a vision for the team, align really good people, and set clear goals.

[12:50] – Becoming a co-owner, investor and Advisory Board member for United Auto Sports and Andretti Racing.

He set a goal of having a Ferrari by the age of 25. He sacrificed driving a bad car so he could have that Ferrari.
As he got closer to the racing community, he got more networking and knew more people.
United Auto Sports is a world endurance champion in the world of endurance racing.

They volunteered every week. He grew up in a house where volunteering is what they do every weekend.
He coached little league baseball when he was in college.
He sets aside a certain percentage of his income every year.
The biggest legacy we leave are our kids. And if they’re good humans and if they’re following some of the footsteps that we tried to follow from our family, that would be great.
Giving back is something that, as good people, we all should do.
