His story started in Groesbeck, Texas, where he earned the nickname “the goat,” inspired by the town’s mascot.
He was a standout athlete in high school and college, excelling in football and basketball at North Texas.
He harbored aspirations of playing in the NFL, but at 21, he suffered a career-ending injury.
Against some advice, he left his corporate job and joined Linear Roofing, a small mom-and-pop operation.
After eight years, they disrupted the industry, transacting for over $100 million with private equity.

It is essential to understand that wishing for your dreams to come true is not enough. You must be intentional every day, focusing your energy on achieving them.
When he worked as a young manager at LA Fitness, he had little sales experience but managed a $10 million store. Despite this, his enthusiasm and dedication led him to success.
Another example is when he was growing his roofing business and pursuing bodybuilding, he faced a significant challenge. Just six weeks before an important competition, he developed a hernia. However, instead of giving up, he took inspiration from Kobe Bryant’s mindset – that challenges can be used to test one’s true potential.
