3 Value Bombs
1) In order for this multi-generational team to work well, we’ve got to be humble.
2) People are everything. And if we find ways to serve and love our own people, they’re going to serve and love the customer in the end.
3) Make sure you ditch the niche and start fostering relationships with people who are not like you. We tend to get with people who are most comfortable for us, people who are familiar, and we have water cooler conversations with people who are like us instead of unlike us.

Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: A New Kind of Diversity Making the Different Generations on Your Team a Competitive Advantage.
[1:26] – Tim shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- We live in a place and a time where we are conditioned by culture to push ourselves, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that.
- When we are humble, we invite people to lean into us.
[3:14] – Ways that each generation approaches startups differently.
- Gen Z: doing startups from their home on an app. They’re monetizing stuff that the rest of us would just be using for entertainment.
- Gen Z is very much at home with this new world.
- 72% of high school students today in Gen Z want to be an entrepreneur.
[5:08] – Young entrepreneurs add value to the elder generation and vice versa.
- We’ve got to collaborate instead of collide. We are seeing so many silos of baby boomers, Gen X-ers, millennials, Gen Z-ers who aren’t collaborating.
- There are millions of young Gen Z college students who are launching into their career
- If the old could impart on the young, and the young could impart on the old – and we get out of our niches and find each other – there’s value to add.

- Clarify norms of communication, expectations, and your team culture.
- Make sure you ditch the niche and start fostering relationships with people who are not like you.
- If you want to sell your product or service to multiple generations, then you ought to include multiple generations to help you understand each demographic.
[20:45] – Tim’s key take away and call to action.
